Enquire ›Why Use Acrylic for Display Stands?
Acrylic (PMMA) is the practical choice for display stands because it combines the clarity of glass with far lower weight and much better shatter resistance. Unlike glass it can be laser-cut and CNC-machined to any size, and the edges can be polished to an optical finish. For light-sensitive contents we can specify a UV-filtering grade and supply its performance data sheet.
| Acrylic (PMMA) | Glass | Polycarbonate | Wood | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Clarity | 92% light transmission | 90% | 88% (yellows over time) | Opaque |
| Weight | ~50% lighter than glass | Heavy | Similar to acrylic | Heavy |
| Impact resistance | 17× stronger than glass | Fragile | 250× stronger | Durable |
| UV protection | Available (92%+ filtering) | Limited options | Yellows under UV | None |
| Custom shapes | Laser cut, CNC, thermoformed | Limited | Limited | CNC only |
| Edge clarity | Fabric + diamond polished, crystal clear | Hidden in a frame | Cannot match acrylic | None |
| Scratch resistance | Moderate (coatings available) | High | Low (marks easily) | High |
| Cost (custom) | Low–medium | High | Medium | Medium |
| Best for | Display stands, retail, collectibles | Museum cases | Safety shields | Furniture |

Why Businesses Choose Longyi Display Stands
Businesses choose Longyi for both quality and service. Beyond supplying custom stands, we bring proper engineering support and a complete service system. From material selection and structural optimisation to surface finishing and final delivery, our process is standardised and backed by an ISO 9001 quality system — continuously improving precision, reliability and customer satisfaction.
Precision clarity you can see
Every stand is made from selected premium acrylic sheet and finished with a fine surface polish and seamless joints. The result is a clean, bright, glass-like transparency with a high-end look — and a one-piece build that stays rigid under load.
Every process under one roof
Cutting, sanding, polishing, UV printing and heat bending are all done in-house on one production line. Nothing is outsourced, so the standard is consistent and every detail is held to tolerance.
Fast sampling, reliable volume
Paid samples ship in 3–5 days; bulk orders take 15–20 days. Our 4,000 m² factory in Guangzhou handles first orders from 100 pcs up to 50,000 pcs — one factory, one quality standard, one production team.
Cast Acrylic vs Extruded Acrylic — Which Should Your Stand Use?
Both are PMMA, but the manufacturing process differs sharply and that directly affects transparency, polish quality, UV performance and how stable the finished stand is. Cast acrylic cures slowly inside a mould, which gives it better light transmission and chemical resistance — after diamond polishing it reaches a glass-like clarity. Extruded acrylic is produced by high-temperature extrusion: faster, cheaper and very consistent in thickness, but the polished edges are less refined and the sheet is more prone to stress cracking.
We help you separate cast from extruded and pick the grade that fits your collectibles and display context. Cast acrylic offers high optical clarity, takes a diamond polish, resists chemicals and tolerates stress without cracking — the right choice when appearance and long-term preservation matter. Extruded acrylic is uniform in thickness, fast to produce and lower in cost, with moderate toughness — suited to general commercial display where a mirror-polished edge is not the point.
For an acrylic display stand, the sheet you choose depends on its use and display requirement.
| Cast acrylic | Extruded acrylic | |
|---|---|---|
| Edge polish quality | Diamond polished to optical clarity — the top standard for display | Polishes acceptably, but never reaches glass-like clarity |
| Thickness tolerance | ±10–15% (wider — inherent to casting) | ±5% (tighter — inherent to extrusion) |
| UV filtering options | UV-stabilised cast grades available (90–98% UV blocking) | UV-stabilised extruded grades exist, but are rarely specified for display |
| Chemical / stress resistance | Higher resistance to solvents and to crazing under bond stress | More likely to stress-craze at bonded joints under load |
| Cost per sheet | High — the process is slower | Low — faster production, more uniform output |
| Best for display stands | Collectible display cases, trading-card and figure showcases, high-end art stands | Simple retail racks, promotional displays, general product risers, short-run event stands, flat signage and value display bases |
Unless you specify otherwise, Longyi produces display stands in cast acrylic by default. The grade used is always stated on the quotation so you can decide with full information.
What Affects the Price of a Custom Acrylic Display Stand?
The price of an acrylic display stand comes down to six factors: size, thickness, quantity, structure, joint style and surface finish. We do not publish fixed prices because every stand is built to order — but these are the elements that move cost, so you can plan a budget.
Size & thickness
A larger stand and thicker acrylic use more material. A 3 mm countertop riser costs noticeably less than a 10 mm floor-standing unit.
Order quantity
Unit price falls sharply as quantity rises. 500 pieces costs far less per piece than 100.
Structure & hardware
A simple fixed structure is the most economical. Rotating bases, illuminated headers and adjustable shelves add hardware and precision work.
Joint style
A standard 90° joint is cost-effective. A 45° mitre is seamless but costs more because of the precision cutting and bonding it requires.
Material & UV protection
Clear acrylic meets the standard price. UV-filtering grades add material cost depending on tested performance. Coloured, frosted and mirrored acrylic also cost more.
Decoration & branding
UV printing, laser engraving and custom foil stamping add to the unit price. Fabric + diamond polishing is included as standard.
What Buyers Say About Our Display Stands
I am very happy with this acrylic display stand. The sheet is thick and perfectly clear, and the diamond-polished edges have no burrs at all. It arrived with protective film and foam packaging, completely undamaged. The custom size fits my products exactly. Replies were fast and clear — this is where I will buy stands from now on.
We ordered brand-store acrylic display stands from Longyi in bulk and the workmanship exceeded expectations. The laser cutting is precise, the UV-printed logos are crisp, and the whole batch is consistent. Every piece was film-wrapped and reinforced for transit. The team patiently revised the drawings from our feedback before production and delivered on time. These stands lifted the look of our store and brought in more customers.
Great custom result. Longyi built exactly to my drawings, the acrylic is thick, the packaging was careful, and it looks premium on a retail counter. Simple to assemble and smooth to the touch — ideal for displaying goods. I will order again.

Frequently Asked Questions
What material are your display stands made from — is it high-quality acrylic?
All our display stands are made from virgin pure cast acrylic — no regrind and no mixed material. Light transmission reaches 92%, with high clarity, good scratch resistance and no yellowing. Edges are smoothly polished, the material is non-toxic, and it is built for long-term indoor use.
Will an acrylic display stand yellow or scratch easily?
Quality cast acrylic has UV resistance built in, so it will not yellow under normal indoor use. It is harder than ordinary extruded acrylic and resists everyday scratching. Every product ships with a protective film to prevent marking during production and transit.
Are your acrylic display stands strong enough to carry weight?
We supply 2–15 mm acrylic depending on what will be displayed — cosmetics, jewellery, electronics, toys and more. Every product is tested for load-bearing and stability, so it stays rigid without deformation or wobble.
Can I customise the size, shape and colour, and print my logo on a display stand? What printing methods do you support?
Full customisation is supported: any size, custom silhouettes, solid colours, clear, frosted and matte finishes — in both stock and fully bespoke formats. Logo customisation is supported with silk-screen printing, UV full-colour printing, laser engraving, frosted logos and embossed logos — clear, hard-wearing and unlikely to peel.
How do I clean and maintain an acrylic display stand?
Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth and water or a mild neutral detergent. Do not use alcohol, corrosive chemicals or abrasive cloths, which can scratch or cloud the surface. Remove the protective film before use.
Do you offer OEM/ODM services?
Yes. We support OEM/ODM production to your drawings, samples or brand requirements, and can also provide custom packaging and labelling as part of the order.
