ACRYLIC MANUFACTURING PROCESS

How Your Order Gets Built

From raw acrylic sheet to finished product — every step under one roof.

Wetop Acrylic is a custom acrylic products manufacturer operating a 5,000 m² facility in Shenzhen, China. Every manufacturing process — laser cutting, CNC machining, diamond polishing, thermoforming, UV printing, and assembly — runs in-house on acrylic (PMMA), also known as plexiglass or Perspex. No outsourcing, no handoffs between factories. Your order stays in one building from material prep to final packaging.

Your Order, Step by Step

01

Design Review

You send us a CAD file, sketch, or reference photo. Our engineering team reviews the design for manufacturability — checking tolerances, material suitability, and structural integrity.

Why it matters: Catching design issues before production saves weeks and avoids costly revisions. We've reviewed 2,000+ custom designs.
02

Engineering & Planning

We create production drawings, select the optimal manufacturing sequence, and choose the right equipment for each operation. You receive a detailed quote with material, process, and timeline breakdown.

Why it matters: The right process sequence determines quality. Laser vs CNC, diamond vs flame polish — each choice affects the final result.
03

Material Preparation

We source acrylic sheets from certified suppliers — clear, colored, frosted, mirrored, or anti-static — in the exact thickness and grade your design requires.

Why it matters: Material quality is the foundation. A flawless finish is impossible if the raw sheet has inclusions, warps, or surface scratches.
04

Cutting

Panels are cut to precise dimensions using laser cutters (for detailed flat cuts up to 25mm) or CNC routers. Our machines hold tolerances within ±0.1mm.

Why it matters: Precision cutting means parts fit together without gaps. In multi-part assemblies, 0.1mm off compounds into visible misalignment.
05

Shaping & Forming

Flat panels are bent, thermoformed, or machined into 3D shapes. Controlled heating and cooling prevents stress marks, crazing, and dimensional warping.

Why it matters: Acrylic is shapeable when heated. Controlled cooling ensures your product stays crystal-clear and dimensionally precise.
06

Edge Finishing

Every product gets diamond polishing as standard — crystal-clear, optically transparent edges. Flame polishing is used on specific edges where structure requires it.

Why it matters: Diamond polishing restores full optical clarity — what separates professional-grade acrylic from cheap fabrication.
07

Printing & Branding

Your logo or full-color artwork is applied using silk-screen printing, UV printing, hot stamping, or laser engraving.

Why it matters: Branding is applied after forming and polishing to protect the print from heat and abrasion during earlier processes.
08

Assembly & Bonding

Multi-part products are joined using solvent bonding (chemical fusion for an invisible joint) or mechanical fasteners.

Why it matters: Solvent bonding creates a molecular-level weld. A properly bonded joint is optically invisible and structurally permanent.
09

Quality Inspection

Every finished product passes 100% inspection against approved samples — dimensions, surface quality, and assembly integrity.

Why it matters: 100% inspection means zero surprises. Our defect rate stays below 0.5% because problems are caught here.
10

Packaging & Shipping

Products are wrapped in protective film and packed in custom foam inserts. Bulk orders use palletized packaging for freight.

Why it matters: Acrylic is brittle under impact. Our packaging is engineered for international freight with double-walled cartons.

Manufacturing Capabilities

Wetop operates 8 laser cutters, 4 CNC machines, and assembly workstations — all within a single 5,000 m² ISO 9001-certified facility in Shenzhen. Every capability listed below runs in-house.

Laser Cutting

Laser Cutting

CO2 laser cutters vaporize acrylic along a programmed path, producing smooth edges. Handles up to 25mm thick with ±0.1mm tolerance.

Best for: Detailed flat cuts, intricate patterns, sign holders

CNC Machining

CNC Cutting & Machining

CNC routers carve through acrylic using spinning bits. Handles up to 50mm, cuts 3D profiles and drills holes in a single setup.

Best for: Thick material, 3D profiles, drilling, blocks

Every Piece. Every Order. Inspected.

We don't do spot checks. Every product is inspected against approved samples — dimensions, surface quality, and assembly integrity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between laser and CNC cutting?
Laser cutting uses CO2 beams for vaporizing flat cuts; CNC uses spinning bits for thicker material and 3D work.
How long does the manufacturing process take?
Production usually takes 15–20 days from approved sample to shipment.

You don't need to know all ten steps. We do.

Send your design or just dimensions. We'll match the right combination of cutting, polishing, and forming.
