  • Achieves a glossy, transparent mirror finish on any curve, circular edge, inner hole, or complex hollow contour.
  • The only practical choice for polishing fine text, intricate hollow parts, and uniquely shaped crafts.
  • Removes fine burrs left from cutting, providing a smooth, scratch-free touch to the finished product.
  • Limitation: As a high-temperature process, it risks edge fogging, slight waviness, or minor thermal deformation if not perfectly controlled by the operator. For extremely long straight edges in mass production, its stability is slightly lower than diamond polishing.

1. After polishing, can it achieve the same transparency as raw acrylic material? +

Highly similar to raw material clarity.
When freshly cast acrylic is processed with diamond or flame polishing, the cross-section can closely approximate the pristine transparency of the original acrylic sheet.

2. How do I choose between diamond polishing and flame polishing for straight edges versus curved holes? +

Straight edges: Diamond Polishing. Curves/holes: Flame Polishing.
For long, straight edges, mechanical diamond polishing is always the preferred choice. For curved edges, internal holes, and irregular contours, we recommend flame polishing for optimal results.

An unpolished cross-section is matte, showing visible tool marks and a frosted texture. After polishing, the edge becomes transparent and mirror-like. The visual improvement on visible side profiles is highly significant.

It can occur if done improperly.
Edge whitening or fogging typically results from incorrect operation. By selecting high-quality cast acrylic sheets and strictly controlling processing temperatures, we can effectively avoid these issues.

5. Can you polish acrylic parts that have already been bent or assembled? +

Polishing must be done before bending and assembly.
Our standard workflow is to complete edge polishing first, followed by heat bending and adhesive assembly. Finished bent or bonded parts are generally not suitable for a secondary polishing process.

6. Are colored or frosted acrylic sheets suitable for polishing? +

Yes, but with specific considerations.
Colored acrylic cross-sections can be polished, although they may show a slight color difference. For frosted acrylic, the side edges can be polished, but the flame must strictly not touch the frosted surface, as it will destroy the texture.
